Event details
Feeling overwhelmed by all the conflicting advice about starting solids? Join us for "Baby Led Feeding", an online workshop that will empower you to confidently guide your baby through their first bites and beyond. New Zealand's leading Paediatric dietitian and feeding specialist Rachael Wilson will share responsive feeding techniques that focus on how to feed your baby, not just what to feed them.
Your step-by-step workshop includes:
How to know when your baby is developmentally ready to start solids
What to look for in a high chair, plus spoons, bowls, and utensils you’ll actually need
How to cook and prepare foods for your baby’s first meals, and what to expect the first time you feed them (Hint: it’s not a lot of eating!)
Understanding and following your baby’s developmental cues—learn how to navigate meals, milk feeds, suitable textures, variety
Understanding key feeding milestones while offering foods that match their readiness for new textures.
This workshop is for you if:
You're unsure about which foods to start with
You want to avoid choking risks and feed your baby safely
You want to know how to prevent Iron deficiency
You're aiming to raise a child who enjoys mealtime and eats a wide variety of foods
You need advice on managing high-allergy-risk foods
You want to feel empowered, not overwhelmed, by feeding your baby
You want to set your child up with a positive relationship with food and their body and raise a competent and mindful eater from the first bite.
The workshop will also include plenty of practical tips and resources like recipes, food prep ideas, and high chair reviews. We’ll cut through the sea of information and help you feel confident every step of the way.
Plus, the event will be recorded, and you'll have access to the recording for two weeks afterward—so you can revisit the material whenever you need!
Sign up now to start your solids journey with confidence!
Equity-Based Ticketing Policy for The Baby Led Feeding Workshop:
At The Food Tree, we believe in making our workshops accessible to everyone while also ensuring that those who have the means to pay more can support those with less financial flexibility. To achieve this, we are offering a tiered ticketing system that allows participants to select a pricing tier based on their financial situation and recent holiday experiences.
Please select the tier that best reflects your current circumstances:
Tier 1: Overseas Holiday Pricing
For individuals or families who have taken or are planning to take an overseas holiday this year. By choosing Tier 1, you are helping to subsidise the costs for those who are in less financially stable situations. Your support ensures that more families can access this important workshop.
Tier 2: Domestic Holiday Pricing
For individuals or families who have taken or are planning a holiday within their home country this year. This mid-tier option reflects moderate financial flexibility while still ensuring the workshop remains affordable for those who might need extra support.
Tier 3: No Holiday Pricing
For individuals or families who have not been able to take a holiday this year, either domestically or internationally, due to financial constraints. We want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to attend, regardless of their financial situation. This lower-cost ticket is designed to keep the workshop accessible for those with limited financial resources.

Here's what other parents are saying...
I’m a huge fan of The Food Tree and their approach to body image and fostering a positive relationship with food. They’re informative, knowledgeable, helpful, and gentle. I’ve attended several of their workshops, and each time I leave with new tools to create a positive environment for my children around body image and self-acceptance.

I learned so much from the workshop! Thank you. I feel much more relaxed about how I approach body image discussions with my kids, and they seem more confident in their own skin.
